This is Rabbi Alexander.
Olga Pushkina was a sister to one of my favorite Russian poets, Alexander Pushkin. When I saw her photograph in a history book, I was inspired to recreate her gentle features.
This is a pastel reproduction of the famous Modigliani. Every woman has her own story to tell.
Here is a watercolor portrait of Claude Monet, the father of Impressionism.
Eve is wearing her favorite necklace.
I like writing stories about birds. This one has been captured for having a beautiful voice. For years she had to perform for a king in captivity in order to entertain the guests. The story isn’t finished yet but the bird will definately be rescued because the world needs to hear her voice.

On a family trip to Miami, we saw seagulls at the beach. They sat gracefully overlooking the water, chatting with each other in bird language, which I must confess, I partially understand. They were talking about their plans for the evening - dancing, I am quite certain, was what they wanted to do. We approached the birds and they flew up into the air. If you see those segulls anywhere, say hello from me.
When I was learning Procreate I referred to an illustration of a crocodile from a children’s book to make this image. As a personal touch, I added small details. I don’t recall the name of the book — if you know it please message me and I will credit it here properly.

This was created during a drawing workshop with an illustrator Elina Ellis. Her courses are great and I have learned so much from her about children‘s illustration.

This is how I would hug my grandmother Meri when I was little. She had a piano in her house and that was where I first learned to play. My grandmother was one of my closest, most trusted friends. She taught me many things, including the love for my jewish roots, about tradition and respect for the elders, about family values and family time, about self respect and self love. We enjoyed cooking and sharing secrets. We lived in the same room for some time and I will always have love for her in my heart. May her memory be a blessing.

The figs on my grandma Zina’s tree in Suhumi were delicious. We picked them every August. Once we knew that the figs were ripe we would climb the tree and share the fruit with our cousins. Family loved gathering at grandma Zina’s home. She always had iced coffee with milk, homemade Georgian deserts, sour pickles, fresh cooked food, and a place to stay. She had grapevines growing in the back yard as well as an apple tree and a cherry tree. We loved all the trees but the fig tree was our favorite.
This is another one of my birds. She doesn’t mind the rain as long as she has a hat on. I made this sketch for a drawing marathon. It’s a great way to get your creative juices flowing.
It’s always more fun to do house chores with good music on. This series of sketches was done for an article for Women Citizens Of The World.
Time flies when you are reading a good book. The book cover is from one of the most memorable short story collections I have read in my youth - The Girl’s Guide To Hunting And Fishing. I met the author, Mellissa Bank, and she signed my copy. I think meeting her was one of the reasons I wanted to write and publish myself.
I have had this loyal companion for over eight years now. He has become as one of the humans in my family. He sits with us at the table and patiently watches us eat. Joins us in bed. Follows us around with the ball asking to play. He waits looking out the window for us to get home. He watches TV with us on the couch, and sits next to us a
I have had this loyal companion for over eight years now. He has become as one of the humans in my family. He sits with us at the table and patiently watches us eat. Joins us in bed. Follows us around with the ball asking to play. He waits looking out the window for us to get home. He watches TV with us on the couch, and sits next to us as we work. He sings and greets the postal workers with a friendly bark. He meditates in the front yard deciding which neighbor or passerby he approves of. Sometimes he sees a stranger and he is calm. Other times he is more protective. He is patient with his younger brothers Fedor and Syema, our ferrets. He is an angel that came down from heaven to watch over us.
This house sparrow is a famous character from my children’s stories. She is a little bird who lives in a magical village with other animals who are happy to be by her side as she gets into all kinds of adventures. I made this drawing in colored pencil.
Every summer I visit my friend’s daughter Maya. She tells me the most magical stories. She is the most well read child that i know. We enjoy long walks and adventures in nature. I hope to see you soon, Maya! Pastel pencils.
I worked from a black and white family photo from the 1980’s to draw this portrait. That is when my husband was still a kid. We both grew up in the same city, only I left Moscow four years earlier than him, and we met later in the USA. I am grateful to the family for cherishing the old photos. It’s one of the few ways I can learn about my husband’s childhood.
This is an ink portrait from an old photograph. These are my grandmother Meri and grandfather Shaliko. Their love story is private and delicate, just at the two of them in this portrait.
This is a watercolor portrait of a Alex Ryaboy. He created a space for self expression that is accepting and uninhibited. His theatrical clowning workshops made me feel at ease with my imperfections, feel joy in connecting with others, and feel free just to be myself.
Here is a kind soul, Vitaly Umansky, who always makes me feel like a happy kid. Thank you for that.
Unexpectedly friends these kids share great energy and thrive when together. Adventure awaits ahead with magical sea creatures and coral reaves waiting to be discovered.
A tale by Anton Soya: a little boy forced to work a humiliating job in a circus and brave girl who comes to save the day. This is in reference to an illustration from the story book.
I referred to an illustration from a children's book called “A Mother’s Journey” to create this watercolor image. The male is singing to the female before she goes off to the ocean to feed. She needs to hear his voice before she gives him the egg to safeguard because she wants to be able to recognize him among all the other penguins when she gets back to the colony.
Agatha is a character I have created when writing a children's tale about a woman who lived alone in a forest. Agatha has a cat and travels by air, on a broom, kind of like a witch. Though she is nothing like a witch. She is kind and generous and all she needs is friends.
Agatha has finally patched up her favorite pink dress and once it's nice and ironed she will wear it to her next flight.
This is Rabbi Alexander's cow. She lives in the mountains of Georgia and is friends with a little girl Malike who talks to her every morning during milling. Malkie is the c ow's best friend and they share secrets.
Dreaming, making wishes, and magic has often been a theme of my illustrations and stories. This girl is collecting stars into her magic bucket. I have faith that her wishes will come true.
